Biography


CHARMAINE BAINES is a Soulful House Music, Neo-Soul, Rhythm & Blues and Neo- Jazz Singer, based in the UK. She is also a songwriter, DJ, and producer.

Commanding countless live performances throughout the UK and the continent, Charmaine has recorded jingles for BBC prime time and US TV.  Over the years she has collaborated with an amazing array of talented and inspirational musicians embracing a multitude of musical influences including supporting soul legend Ruby Turner at the renowned Nantwich Jazz festival and performing at the prestigious Zoo Jazz club in Athens, Greece in 2017. Producers Danny Spencer and Kelvin Andrews of ‘Soul Mekanik’, featured Charmaine as an artist on  Robbie Williams album title track Rudebox and Viva life on Mars. Charmaine is also credited on 5 tracks from Robbie Williams number album, ‘The Christmas Present’. Her talents have seen her perform in musical theatre and acting role in the Broadway musical version of ‘Hairspray as ‘Motormouth Maybelle’ at The Regent Theatre, Stoke on Trent.

Charmaine’s passion for music has also enabled her to successfully deliver a variety of accredited community music projects and radio production workshops within the West Midlands and Staffordshire. Her work in the community won her a nomination from Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce and an invitation from Prime Minister David Cameron to 10 Downing Street, 8th October 2015 for a unique reception celebration of Black History Month and creating opportunities for young people to meet and interview Fran Unsworth, head of new and current affairs for the BBC for the ‘We are Stoke-On-Trent’ BBC events in September 2019.
